How we measure
These pages make claims about real companies, so here is exactly how the numbers are produced — including where they fall short.
Where the data comes from
We read job postings directly from employers’ own careers sites — the pages hosted by their applicant tracking system. We do not use job boards, aggregators, scraped third-party listings, or user-submitted reports. If a posting appears on these pages, it appeared on the company’s own site.
Coverage is limited to employers using Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, or BambooHR. Companies on other systems are absent entirely. Absence from this site means nothing at all about a company.
The most important limitation
We do not know when a posting was originally published. Career sites generally don’t expose that date. What we know is when our pipeline first observed a posting and whether it has appeared on every check since.
So when a page says a role has been listed for 300 days, it means we have observed it continuously for 300 days. The posting may well be older. Every age figure is a lower bound, never an exact age, and never an upper bound.
This cuts one way only: we may understate how long something has been up. We will not overstate it.
What we count
- Postings listed right now — distinct postings present at our most recent check.
- Listed 90+ days — the share we have observed continuously for at least 90 days.
- Longest continuously-listed role — days since we first saw the single oldest posting still up.
- Reposts — how many times the same job title has appeared as a new posting from the same company.
What these numbers do not mean
A long-listed posting is not evidence of a fake job, and we don’t present it as one. There are ordinary reasons a role stays up or comes back:
- Genuinely hard-to-fill positions that take many months to close.
- High-turnover roles where a company is continuously and legitimately hiring.
- Employers who post per location, so one role becomes dozens of near-identical listings.
- Accepted offers that fall through, sending a role back to the board.
- Postings left up through simple administrative neglect.
We publish no score, grade, ranking, or label. We do not assert that any company is behaving deceptively. We report what we observed and leave the interpretation to you, because the interpretation is genuinely not ours to make.
How current this is
Postings are re-checked on a rolling basis and these pages refresh daily. Each company page shows the date it was last measured. A role filled this morning may still appear here until our next check.
If you think something is wrong
If you work at a company shown here and believe a figure misrepresents your hiring, we want to know — accuracy is the entire value of this data. Email support@sidedoorjobs.com and we will re-check the underlying postings. If we got it wrong we’ll correct it, and if you’d rather not appear at all we’ll remove the page on request.
